"Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends"
- Maya Angelou
BCC’s sliding scale tuition ensure that families can participate regardless of income. We never want cost to be the reason a child misses out on transformative artistic experiences, deep community connection, or the confidence that comes from being truly seen and heard.
For decades, BCC has helped young people grow not only as musicians, but as leaders, advocates, and compassionate citizens. Alumni often reflect on these experiences as pivotal moments in their lives, moments that expanded their sense of what was possible for themselves and for the world around them.
At BCC, touring is a core tenet of how we develop young people as global citizens. Throughout the years, BCC is proud to have brought singers to cities across both the United States and all over the world including; Australia, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, and beyond! These experiences were carefully designed to engage our singers deeply with the histories, cultures, and communities they encounter. Again and again, we see the same results: tour changes lives. “Some of my biggest most magical memories with BCC were created when I went on tour to Jordan”, says alumni Cyrus Dahmubed ‘09. “We performed at the Jerash Music Festival to an audience of mostly young people and that was a really incredible and special moment.”
